New Bugatti 16C Galibier Concept Revealed

28 August 2009 No Comment

It’s called the Bugatti Galibier 16C, a name taken from an Alpine pass and which also adorned Bugatti saloons in the 1930s.

It might look like the lovechild of a Porsche Panamera and a Bugatti Veyron, but this is going to be one seriously quick super-saloon. The Veyron donates its W16 engine to the new concept, but two-stage superchargers replace the Veyron’s quad-turbo set-up.

Bugatti is pretty silent about potential power figures, but expect at least 900lb ft of torque and an expected top speed in excess of 240mph - which would make the Galibier the fastest saloon car in the world.

Don’t expect a four-door Bug any time soon, however: a production version is at least three years away.
